AUGUST 15

ONE DAY

4:00-8:00PM

SERVETHECITYONE DAY

It became pretty common for people to look forward to 2020 as the year of clarity, well, because we all love a good pun and it's catchy. But, as we enter the back half of 2020 the only thing clear is that we have no idea what happens next. In the midst of uncertainty, confusion, fear, and great need we cling to the hope of Jesus Christ. Now more than ever we're asking him for clarity.

Serve The City and life look different this year, but now is the time to grow in ways God only knows. So this year we won't have a week-long, overnight event or travel the city together serving those in need. This year we will simply come together for four hours on one day, with one goal; to receive clarity.

From seeing friends and family from different churches around the city together again to receiving clarity that changes hearts and gives light to a path that only God can lead us on. It may be one day, in the midst of a pandemic, but we believe that's more than enough for our God.

SERVE THE CITY

SERVE SIMPLY / LOVE DEEPLY

Serve The City: Summer Missions is an inner-city missions trip for students who want to make a real difference in their world. STC is not your typical youth trip! We don’t ask students to come and sit, sing and listen. At STC, we experience powerful worship, hear great messages, AND THEN take it to the streets, serving the people of Columbus to show God’s love in practical ways. The goal of Serve The City is to give students an opportunity to grow closer to God while developing a heart to serve those around them. Our goal and expressed mission is to “serve simply, love deeply.”

We believe that “small things done with great love will change the world.” Over the course of the week we will have multiple jam packed-services, trainings, and will be spending each day doing outreaches all over Columbus. Students can expect to be working with the elderly, homeless, disabled, kids, urban poor, and serving the people of Columbus and we will have an opportunity to show love well. Instead of just telling people about God’s love, we get creative in showing His love in practical ways. As a result of this week, we hope to rock your paradigms of “evangelism” or “outreach” so each student will experience a new freedom or possibly even be radically changed. We are praying that students who have attended Serve The City will go home with a new sense of missional living that inspires them to act, and a new set of skills and experiences that empowers them to impact others and especially their families.
